This is my friend and podcast co-host, Geoff “The Sexy Alligator” Yearwood...
Rockin' a gig in 2015
Now, Geoff didn’t know I was going to steal this picture from his Facebook page. He didn’t know I was going to enhance it. He certainly didn’t know I was going to create an entire musical empire behind his back.
Why would I do this, you ask?
Because this is the kind of childish chaos we get up to on the EGG CRAP Podcast (The Ernest Goes to Comics Kickstarter Podcast)
Every episode, I introduce Geoff as “The Sexy Alligator.” Over time, the legend of The Sexy Alligator began to grow. Like Ernest’s anxiety about electricity. People demanded to know more!
Then one day, inspiration struck: What if... The Sexy Alligator had a theme song? So I used AI to create a song around Geoff’s iconic catchphrase: "CHOMP! CHOMP!"
It was so good. Like... weirdly good. So obviously, I had to make an CD cover.
Please Admire it. Bask in it.
But that just wasn’t enough. I couldn’t stop laughing knowing Geoff had no idea I was doing this. So I had to take it further. I souped up the cover. I added... epic-twang-glory.
Try not to faint...
Oh yeah! That's the one!
But still, like a hungry alligator lost in a majestic swamp, it wasn't enough. The Ernest spirit in me whispered: “Make it an album.”
So I did.
I made an entire 8-track album, using nothing but my mischievous spirit, AI tools, and a complete disregard for Geoff's privacy.
Finally, on the latest episode of the podcast, I revealed the truth to Geoff. And he loved it! Guess what that means?
YOU GET THE WHOLE ALBUM—FOR FREE.
No catch. No gimmick. Just glorious, swamp-fueled bangers. I probably wrote 65% ish of the lyrics. The rest mixed in with Chat GPT. And I promise you, it’s absolutely ridiculous, and unbelievably catchy.
If you haven’t heard the episode where Geoff finds out he has a full album online and listens to it in real time, do yourself a favor and check it out on the EGG CRAP Podcast. It’s pretty funny to hear his reactions.
Now, as for the graphic novel...
We’re on page 44, churning and burning, slowly but surely! One of the Kickstarter stretch goals was more splash pages, right?
Well, feast your eyes, because this splash page is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Here are pencils and the colors side-by-side so you can soak it all in.

Before I invite myself over to your casa, feed your cat fettuccine alfredo, turn your AC down to 50 degrees while I work out on your treadmill in thigh-high jorts and eat a peanut butter and salami sandwich...
Which in Buddhism is what they call the circle of cholesterol...
After all, I am a master in the ancient Eastern philosophies of Confusion-ism...
And this one time, I almost reached "Nirvana" through Buddhist meditation! I sat cross-legged, closed my eyes, and focused really really hard...
But uh, then I got stuck tryin’ to figure out what "Teen Spirit" actually smells like. Hormones and Rebellion? Or gym socks left in a locker over summer break? Boy Vern, Kurt Cobain must've been a real enlightened fella.
Anyways, like I was sayin'...
Dagnabbit Vern, now I forgot what I was gonna say!
Well, guess what?! 36 pages of the comic are fully illustrated! Arief and Mariam continue to absolutely nail it. The detail, the expressions, the color, all of it is just perfecto, comprendo, deja vu?
Things are getting spooky! And look at all the beautiful detail in Arief's pencils! Woo!
Next month, just like the Terminator, "we’ll be back"...
Except instead of bringin' a robot apocalypse that destroys the world... not to mention ruining your property value, we'll bring another update!

Hey Vern! Here's your March update (a little late). We’re officially at 32 pages illustrated, and this book just keeps getting better. Just look at this teaser piece from Arief! His pencils absolutely nail Ernest’s zany, over-the-top expressions.

Howdy, Vernons! Hope y’all are staying out of trouble—or at least making it entertaining.
Want to see what the artistic process looks like? First, Arief Russanto, our illustrator, creates page layouts. Once approved, he pencils and then inks them. Finally, Mariam Yasser, our colorist, applies the colors on top.

That's right Vernon, our graphic novel will soon reach numero uno in the world rankings... comprendo, deja vu?
Our team is churning away, steadily making progress. We're currently about done with 23 pages. Is it taking a little longer than we expected? Sure. We want to be upfront about that. But is it because they're working so hard to make our pages absolutely stunning? Oh, you better believe it!
They are obsessing over every single detail to make sure this book feels as true and authentic as possible. Every page is packed with personality, heart, and so much detail.
