Hola a los Vernons!

And a Feliz Año Nuevo to all my fellow Ernest enthusiasts! I hope your year is already off to the kind of start where others "KnoWhutUmean!" As for our little corner of chaos and creativity, I wanted to share a quick update on the graphic novel.

First, let me say this—our team is absolutely bringing their A-game. Things are moving a teensy bit slower than we hoped. We’ve got 16 pages illustrated so far.

The good news is, wowza, do they look detailed, beautiful, and bursting with enough of that Ernest magic and heart to power an overly complex garbage truck with mops and roller skates! 

I don't always want to show you updates, because I'm mindful of spoilers. But this one is spoiler-free. Feast your eyes on this penciled and inked page by Arief Russanto. 

Thank you for your patience and support. This project exists because of you, and we’re so excited to keep building it together. We'll check back in next month for another update!

Production is Underway! Happy Holidays!

Hey there, Vernons!

We hope this message finds you as excited as we are about bringing Ernest & the Dream Stone to life! We wanted to take a moment to share where we’re at and wish you a great holiday season.

After the campaign wrapped up, it took nearly three weeks for the bank transfer process to complete, which meant we couldn’t officially start production until November. The art team is now hard at work on early pages, which are looking beautiful! We’ll keep you posted as production progresses.

From all of us here at Ernest Goes to Comics, we hope you had a brilliant Thanksgiving...

And we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

We’ll be back with another update in January 2025 to keep you in the loop as we march forward.

Important Note: Since the book will take around a year to complete, we’ll be sending out a few more surveys in mid-to-late 2025 to double-check your shipping address. 📦 If you happen to move in the meantime, you’ll be able to update your address then to ensure your book arrives safely!

This cover art will be included in both editions of the graphic novel. So if bought it, don't worry -- you'll be able to check it out in all its glory inside the book! 

If you ordered a 2-book Slipcase Bundle, be watching out for the Backerkit surveys! You'll be given the choice to choose whether you want the original slipcase we presented, or, a double-sided Justin Mason edition of the slipcase that looks something like this... 

This slipcase is only available as a 2-book slipcase. Due to logistical complications, we will not have single-book slipcases available.

Hey there, Vernons!

We hope you're as excited as we are about the upcoming Ernest graphic novel! We're getting ready to take the next step in this journey, and that means we'll soon be sending out surveys through BackerKit—not Kickstarter—so please be on the lookout for them in your inbox.

What’s the survey for?
This survey is important because it’s how we’ll gather your shipping information and confirm your address to make sure your book gets to the right place! You’ll also get a chance to review any additional items you've selected.

Important Note:
Since it will take about one year to fulfill the graphic novel, we’ll send out confirmation surveys again before shipping the book to your house. If you move during that time, you’ll need to provide your new address—otherwise, the book will be sent to your old address! 

Key things to remember:

1. Watch for an email from BackerKit soon.
2. The surveys are how we’ll collect your address and other necessary information.
3. If you move before the book ships, be sure to update your address in the confirmation survey later.
